Avtec's core technology, TSWB® is a fire retarding and smoke suppressing polymer additive. A non-toxic antimony and bromine-free white powder, TSWB® was created to incorporate into both thermoset and thermoplastic reinforced composites. TSWB® will sharply reduce the propensity of a composite part to combust, generate smoke or transmit heat when exposed to open flame or high radiant heat. TSWB® is a singularly unique composition that chemically reacts at approximately 600˚F (316˚C) to form a charred, cement reinforced surface. This intumescent concretion mitigates surface flammability and smoke development behavior. TSWB® is especially appropriate for end-use applications that require life-safety fire, smoke and toxicity code compliance.
